Coverage description
An Insurance Services Office (ISO) standard form. What the form says
Key clauses from the latest edition, 07 14 (Jul 2014), quoted as filed.
“One or more earthquake shocks that occur within a 72-hour period constitute a single earthquake.”
DP 04 69 07 14
How many earthquakes a loss involves. Shocks within 72 hours count as one earthquake, so one deductible applies to all of them.
“We do not cover loss to exterior masonry veneer caused by earthquake.”
DP 04 69 07 14
Masonry veneer is left out unless the schedule says otherwise. Earthquake damage to exterior masonry veneer is excluded, and its value is deducted before the deductible applies. The schedule has a box to remove this exclusion, and stucco is not treated as masonry veneer.
“We do not cover loss resulting directly or indirectly from flood of any nature or waves, including tidal wave and tsunami”
DP 04 69 07 14
Flood that follows an earthquake. Flood, waves and tsunami caused, worsened or contributed to by an earthquake remain excluded.
“The total deductible amount will not be less than $500.”
DP 04 69 07 14
The minimum deductible. The deductible is the schedule percentage times the largest of the Coverage A, B or C limits, but never less than $500. It does not apply to fair rental value, additional living expense or the other coverages.

07 88

The minimum earthquake deductible rises from $250 to $500.
