Form

Method

Current IDOI guidance requires filing of all contractual P&C forms unless a statute creates an exception. It does not impose one universal approval method or lead time across ordinary noncommercial products; product-specific statutes and review standards control.

Applies to: General contractual policy forms

Conditions and exceptions: Noncontractual forms not part of the policy need not be filed; product-specific statutes may add approval or timing requirements.

Note: The general rule is resolved without manufacturing a statewide clock: filing is mandatory, while approval and timing depend on product-specific authority.

Current IDOI guidance instructs filers to submit workers compensation and title rate filings at least 30 days before the effective date.

Packaging

Indiana's current SERFF configuration actively accepts Form/Rule Form/Rate Form/Rate/Rule and Rate/Rule filings. A 2025 personal-auto Form/Rate/Rule objection assessed the form rate and rule as three fee components rather than rejecting the combined filing.

Applies to: Submission packaging

Conditions and exceptions: Confidential or credit-only materials still must be separated under the Department's special procedures.

Note: Operational evidence establishes that combined filing types are accepted; it does not merge each component's legal method or fee.
